Born in El Paso, TX in September of 1982, Adrian moved with his parents to Southern California soon after. He has lived in the greater Los Angeles area since. Showing a love for creativity from an early age he pursued art as much as art did him. But as the inevitability of instability in life presented itself he found himself battling substance abuse as early as his teen years and continued to fight a losing war with it through his adult years. In September of 2014, he was admitted to a hospital where he remained on the brink of death for nearly six months. An absolute prognosis of death was all that medical professionals could offer. For reasons beyond reason he survived. Taking it as a “sign” from a higher power he vowed to re-devote himself to his first passion. After a relatively brief convalescence he adopted a clean lifestyle, even switching to a vegan diet. Returning to school at the age of thirty-three, he earned three AA degrees from Los Angeles City College, and a BFA from the University of California, Berkeley in the fall of 2022. He returned to Los Angeles where he continues to make work. He lives with his partner, Lisa and cat baby, “Mazzy.”
